Is English Important?

Every country have a languange that is spoken by people who live there. English as a global language is spoken by people around the world. In my country, people who can speak English is judged as smart people. Why? I think because most of the countries that English as the first language are developed country and people ini developing country think all peoples who live in developed country are smart people. The mindset is totally wrong.

Language is not about smart and intelegent. Language is about habit. We know the fact if we change the condition. Are foreigners able to speak Bahasa Indonesia if they study once or twice? The same for us as native speaker in Bahasa Indonesia. We can’t speak English fluently if we just study once or twice. We must make a habit that force us to speak English. I know the condition is difficult because our second language is not English, maybe local language like me.

Well, in my opinion Englsih is important because English as global language can bring us to global community. The world is not only in our area, the world is so wide! We can make conversation with people from around the world.

In Education perspective, English is used as language in many books, many journals, etc. Using English in the class help us to prepare the globalization. We can be equal in the competitive education.

Then, English is so important to get a job. Many companies make English as an extrance test. So, we can prepare it.

I know those are not all. The important thing is “English is important”
